“I am drawn to the wild animal and the tall tree within the soul.
I want to capture the parts of us that us that make us who we are— yet go unseen and undervalued.
The characteristics that humans share with shrewd, yellow-eyed osprey, broad green tree trunks, and each other— what it is to be alive.”
Inspiration
Drawn on the back of a Home Depot receipt. Inspired by Come Closer, by Cassandra Barney“I am always thinking about art. I make art wherever I can— with pens or highlighters on the backs of receipts, with my fingers on foggy car windows, and with any other tools I can find. I draw on myself and my friends with sharpies or ink.
Often, these stream of consciousness musings go on to form the basis for elaborate paintings, and other finished works.”
