I am drawn to the wild animal and the tall tree within the soul.

I want to capture the parts of us that us that make us who we are— yet go unseen and undervalued.

The characteristics that humans share with shrewd, yellow-eyed osprey, broad green tree trunks, erupting volcanoes, and each other— the truth.

Inspiration

Drawn on the back of a Home Depot receipt. Inspired by Come Closer, by Cassandra Barney

I am always thinking about art. I make art wherever I can— with pens or highlighters on the backs of receipts, with my fingers on foggy car windows, and with any other tools I can find. I draw on myself and my friends with sharpies or ink.

Often, these stream of consciousness musings go on to form the basis for elaborate paintings, and other finished works.

Sketchbook

Grief, in progress

The pieces I pour my soul into take a long time to formulate, and to plan. First, I consider the emotions and experience I want the piece to capture. Then, I plan my palette and design accordingly.
